Hi 👋 I am Tiago.
I was born in sunny Lisbon and I've been living and working in London for the past 10 years. I've been playing around with computers since I was little and have been shipping software professionally since 2010.
I started writing software professionally in C# .NET (3.5!) but I've long since specialised on the web ecosystem, modern frontend, and customer-facing products. My main interests are scalability, systems design, and building user experiences that work at scale.
For the past few years I've spent less time as an IC and more time leading people and teams, setting technical strategy, hiring, and planning. My focus is technical excellence and building high-performance teams that ship impactful products.
I'm currently an Engineering Lead @ Wise where I lead a couple of teams our Onboarding squad who build the products and systems that help onboard millions of personal and business customers every year (almost) everywhere in the world.
